Develop your communication skills in Spanish across the four areas of listening, reading, writing, and speaking
Create content in Spanish (i.e. stories, poetry, videos, songs, etc.)
In Spanish 1, you will develop skills in listening, reading, writing in Spanish, forming grammatically correct structured sentences, and most importantly, conversation. In Spanish 2, you will further develop your skills by learning to communicate in spontaneous spoken conversations on familiar topics (food, weather, and hobbies) using a variety of practiced or memorized words, phrases, simple sentences, and questions. Spanish 3 focuses on developing your advanced reading and writing skills through Spanish newspapers, fables, short stories, and other content at the intermediate level of fluency. Additionally, Spanish 3 will introduce you to advanced grammar and syntax and aim to develop your academic vocabulary. As with Spanish 1 and 2, Spanish 3 follows ACTFL standards and incorporates the three modes of communication (interpretive, presentational, interpersonal) and a focus on culture in each unit.
