Fundamentals of Computer Science is intended as a first course to introduce you to the field of computer science through an exploration of engaging topics, including Coding (around 50% of the course), Networking Systems, Web Design, and Cybersecurity. By learning how to code, you will use critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving to complete relevant and fun projects. Through these coding assignments and an exploration of the field generally, you will gain an understanding of computer science principles, preparing you for further studies in the field. In addition, to gain an understanding of digital citizenship, you will be introduced to computing careers and will examine societal and ethical issues of computing. Note: This is a year-long offering.
