AP Environmental Science is designed to engage students in meaningful discussions about the environment and how it is impacted by humans and other living things. Through readings, discussions, and hands-on activities, students will explore and discuss scientific principles, concepts, and methodologies related to the environment. Topics to be discussed include the physical and biological properties of the environment, the effects of human activity on the environment, the effects of global climate change, and strategies for protecting and restoring the environment. The course will also focus on the ethical and legal implications of environmental issues and the role of environmental policy in creating sustainable solutions. By the end of the course, students will be prepared to take the AP Environmental Science Exam and will have a deep understanding of the complexities of environmental science. Note: This is a year-long offering.
